BBC Reporting

There's literally page after page on the BBC site regarding our win. If you type "Chelsea club world cup" into the general news search bar you'll find it . Like under the headline below for example. If you go to the football sports section and look for our club you get loads of articles about all Chelsea related stuff. .

"We've never seen a team do this to PSG' - how Chelsea won Club World Cup"
I mean when it was going on...

In the Headlines - First Page - either Premiership or Football - nothing - all I found on their main Football Page was European Girlies stuff.

On the Chelsea page you can find their articles but I wouldn't say they covered it - put it together from other news after the event perhaps.

I would ditch the licence this second if I could. The only thing on tv I watch these days is football, but seeing as I still need a licence to do that, I'm trapped. I've disliked the BBC for a very long time now. The Jimmy Saville coverup, their pompous, full of themselves presenters, their absolute sh*t tv shows. I see no justification in basically forcing us to pay for this sh*t anymore. It's like they feel they're entitled to it and consider the BBC an essential piece of living in the UK. Well I don't see it that way, there would be no negative impact on my life if I never set eyes on anything BBC related again.
I find the saville stuff a mad reason to hate on the BBC.

To me it's like saying "I don't watch movies because Hollywood covered up Harvey Weinstein"

The people involved are all gone.

For my money the BBC is incredible. 13 quid a month for radio, TV, website etc. Better value than anything else.

Will be sad when it's inevitably destroyed because of the capitalist campaign against it.

I used to watch a lot of BBC from my neck of the woods, they're were some great documentaries and historical programmes on. Now all I occasionally watch is Match of the Day when we've done well and Liverpool have lost 😄 The quality of programming seems to have disappeared. Mind you, in my own country funding for good programmes has all but dried up too, so it's a problem across the board.

It's not just the BBC, the Australian ABC (our local version of the BBC) has all the same issues (poor programming that's out of touch with audiences, prioritising pushing political messaging over integrity, defence of powerful interests that overlap with pedophilia, etc)

Here in Italy RAI (the BBC equivalent) is funded by a charge included in your electricity bill, equivalent of the BBC licence fee. Yet RAI - 3 channels -is effectively a commercial network because they also run advertisements. So double dipping. Australia abolished the licence fee for the ABC years ago with the national broadcaster directly funded by the government. Which obviously led to the government in power exercising control over broadcasting policy by threatening to cut funding. You can't win.

I'll put BBC Breakfast/news on in the morning while getting ready for work, but it's just background noise.

I used to watch it a lot years ago, I loved David Attenborough's stuff, but I very rarely watch anything now... maybe just Bob Mortimer's fishing show and any episodes of Would I Lie to You he's on, and sometimes MOTD. I prefer watching sports coverage on BBC given the option due to the lack of adverts, but they don't have much anymore outside of special competitions like the World Cup or Olympics.

I never watch any of the commercial TV stations.

If I want to watch a series, 99% of the time I'm streaming it. Eventually, as the older generations pass away, I think traditional TV/radio broadcasters like the BBC will stop existing. Maybe they'll still exist but for streaming only.

But like, do you visit the bbc website? Because right now it's the only way I can consume news without being told I have to pay for it or being fed absolute tripe.

I'm surprised you don't listen to the radio? That's miles better than anything on commercial.

I'm assuming you don't have kids but I do and Jesus the quality of programming on cbbc is so much healthier than sticking them in front of whatever garbage Netflix/YouTube might offer up.

Sad thing is when the BBC does disappear in 5/10 years, all other content will get significantly worse. The commercial stations will have free reign to appeal only to the lowest common denominator

Thank you Tim Davie.

It's not a "woke" lefty enterprise, it's an Establishment institution, and always has been from the very beginnings. It's extensive coverage of Royalty , Royal ceremonies, Royal weddings , etc etc is pure Establishment. .

It deliberately misreported the events of the miners strike battle of Orgreave to favour the old bill that day. . And it's hierarchy have always been picked from the Establishment.

As for the disgusting cover up of millionaire abuser Jimmy Saville much admired by the Royals and the hierarchy of institutions , that's the Establishment for you ..

Nicholas Witchell ? The guy who was privately educated at a fee paying school in Epsom ?

I looked that up obviously, but I think you might have someone else in mind ? .

We might be first on MOTD tomorrow night ??!!

Ah thats it Huw Edwards, i was confusing him with Philip Schofield ( who jumped the royal funeral queue ) and now that you mention MOTD Gary Lineker. All good people and well worth the licence fee. 😐

And lets not forget Russell Brand , all part of the BBCs finest.👍

Yikes! Got me there ! I hope that turncoat Charlatan(s) ( great band btw) Russell Brand gets done.

From left wing wokie, to fake religious zealot, to Conspiracy nutter selling Amulets to his faithful that apparently ward off harmful signals ...especially in airports !!

The BBC4, BBC4ex, BBC5L and the best music station 6M are the best out there.

BBC iPlayer is pretty good, and BBC Sounds has some great stuff especially documentary blogs ( is that what they're called ? )

And the best coverage of Royal events !!

Come on you Blues. Come on Burnley FFS

I don't watch movies either though 😆

I'm not really tv, radio and movie type of person, and I hate Hollyweird.

You can think the BBC is incredible, that's fine, but I don't, same goes for many others, so why should we pay for it? It's not essential, like the NHS for example (yes, I have had people in the past try and compare the BBC and NHS like they are the same thing) so I don't see why I should pay for it.

Change is going to have to come eventually, because more and more people aren't paying for it, and their attempts at frightening people into paying for it is disgusting. I grew up in a generation where everybody consumed BBC tv and radio, but gen z and gen alpha are different. My young niece and nephews don't consume anything BBC related. I don't think it's death will happen because of a capitalist campaign against it, it's just that technological advancements have made it useless in the eyes of the younger generations.

I do love anything with David Attenborough involved, blokes a national treasure so Planet Earth etc are fantastic.

Outside of that with the programmes and the Radio (Looking directly at you Radio 1 and the recently destroyed Radio 2) it all just seems the same DEI Woke Bullsh*t.

Haven’t paid a TV Licence the entire time I’ve owned a property and will continue not to.

Everything is on streaming services and Football is all on the stick anyway.

I think there was a time when the BBC was needed but it’s had its day and has too many characters associated with it that I don’t want to pay the wages of.
