A thread for the new season of pointless friendlies and not-so-pointless World Cup Qualifiers. Feel free to post anything and everything about how our guys fare on their international breaks, including youth players.

I'll start off by saying that Lampard has been given the armband for England this week, which is always nice.

I really like this Brazil lineup. I wonder if Mano thinks this is close to his strongest squad? Playing Ramires on the right wing also. Good to see him back on the team.

 
3-0 Brazil now. Ramires set up the last goal. Oscar was sharp. Plays a very smart game. Luiz actually looked like he limped off a little

 
Just saw that Lamps is on 91 England caps. He'd be on 94-95 if he had gone to Euros, so I'm hoping that injury doesn't prevent him from reaching the century mark, as he deserves it.

Also, Ash is 98, while Gerrard is on 96. Really hope Ash gets his next 2 in before Gerrard gets 4, as that would negate any chance of Cole getting the armband.

Unbelievably, JT is only at 77.

Luiz seemed to be in some pain when he went off against Sweden. Haven't heard if he's alright to play against Wigan.

I saw that too, but he looked alright afterwards. It was probably just a knock, as Robbie would've mentioned it today if it were something serious.

Good to see Frank scoring 2, even if it was only Moldova.

Not so good to see was Terry going off injured. Hope it's not serious.

 
Belgium won 0-2 in Cardiff against Wales..

Kompany's header on a corner for the 0-1

Verthongen scored a free kick,very hard kick straight on goal 0-2

Before that there was a red card for Collins...

Hazard was at the background but that was normal in this game,did not had to give 100 procent.

Lukaku who said he not wanna start this game,came in after the break and was not fit enough and forgot to keep it simpel.

De Bruyne got a minute of 30 I think ,and I was impressed...I'm not a De Bruyne fan but I think this gonna change.

Courtois was belgium's nr1 ,Mignolet on the bench.Courtois had a great save on a very difficult shot from Bale,otherwise it was 1-1.

For me match of the man was Mertens,but it was more a collective result,the disipline they needed to win this game was there..

I hope next Tuesday against Croatia,our Hazard will not get injured... :sad:

Dont get too excited, you only beat Wales and I and 10 of my mates would give them a game........ :biggrin:
