Rio's pish, can't believe Tony Cottee is on Sky Sports saying he's one of the top four Central defenders in England :laugh2: He must be drinking.

Thank god he's got the boot at last.

Roy, the voice of reason!

Strange that he`s sticking up for a player who came through the youth ranks of a club he spent many many years at........What an imbecile he is.

Talk of Downing being selected.

What an insult that would be to players who've put the work in and had good seasons. If Downing gets picked, it'd be entirely because of the kit he wears.

Hart Green Ruddy GlenJ Jones JT Lescott Cahill Cole Baines Theo Downing Ox Gerr'd Barry Lamps Parker Young Milner Defoe Rooney Welbeck Carroll

Downing being included is an utter joke.

Midfielders: Theo Walcott (Arsenal), Stewart Downing (Liverpool), Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain (Arsenal), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Gareth Barry (Man City), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Scott Parker (Tottenham), Ashley Young (Man United), James Milner (Man City)

Surprised Defoe got a look in

Johnson over Richards is a surprise! Defoe is also a surpirse but Sturridge has had a quiet 2nd half to the season maybe thats why he is not going ??

I think so. He had a great start and if he had kept scoring goals in the later part of the season he would surely have got a spot in the squad.

Not sure about Defoe. Has he been good lately? Can't remember hearing his name in a very long time.

brave call by hodgson considering so many in the public domain were urging him to drop jt, but he has made the right decision...against barca first leg JT, Cahill and A cole starred...you'd be a fool not to go with that trio, who have a natural understanding...rio is yesterday's news...even fergie said he can't play every four days

f**king Downing, wow. Also sad that Crouch is left out, just because.

thought hodgston could have been somewhat braver......many disappointing years through the golden era.

Was hoping for something out of the box, view what I thought would have made the :SpamUnwrapped:

some joke call ups in there downing, carrol, defoe, chamberlain........gerrard what have they done this year that deserves being called up

I love how yesterday Soccernet's headline was "Terry set to miss out on Euros". After reading the headline, it became clear that either Rio or JT was going, but never once did it say anything about Terry being the one to maybe miss out. Doesn't stop the w**kers from publishing it with that headline.

Gerrard captain apparently - alleged adultery is a sin but assault is not. So much for 'we're Scouse not English'...

Gerrard is captain, that means he'll play every game.

Gerrard, downing and Carroll up front for the first two games... What a depressing prospect.

Downing is an utter embarrassment of a call up. There's no reason whatsoever why he deserves to be in the squad.

There goes any interest I have in England doing well.
This is the problem I have. I'd like to be patriotic every time the team plays and stick with them, but all the drama and double standards that comes with that national team, make it so hard. Over the last few years, I find myself only watching them to see our players do well. We are a shadow of a team that we once were, where players like Shearer, Gazza, Lineker and all those greats were proud to wear the shirt, now it seems, nobody gives a f**k.

Hodgson needs to push the youth into the side but I don't think any of the drama will stop, so long as there are players with big ego's, the football association and the press hating on anything to do with England.
