Mike Penders

Another one that is nothing to do with Chelsea FC. Will probably never play for the club. Will no doubt go the same way as Slonina, Bergstrom, Beach, Sharman-Lowe, Curd. Hopefully the lad will get enough to get him a stepping stone move to another club.

 
If we sign all the goalkeepers in the world between the age of 18 and 22, eventually we’ll find a good one, right? Can’t fault their strategy

Reports suggest a €20m fee and a 2 year loan back to Genk.

No idea how close we actually are to signing him.

Please... Somebody make it make sense.

Ok...I'm starting to lean towards the conspiracy theory we are starting our own youth league with the sole purpose of selling the top clubs young and upcoming players!

How many goalkeepers do we have now!?

 
Sign all the upcoming GKs in Europe for the next 2-3 seasons, sooner or later there will be a shortage of GKs down the track. Maybe that's the time the owners will profit by sky rocketing the price 🥳

They're going to create another team or club. Maybe sell them some of these players to get past psr rules too.

It's even more ridiculous when we factor in that the club are baulking at Osimhen because of his wages. This is his wages thrown at a lad we'll never see and probably make no money on. We paid £8m for Slonina. Nobody is paying that currently. 

 
Apart from the fact that he plays for Genk, this is nothing like signing 19 y.o. Courtois back in 2011 for a then-eyewatering €9m.

When Chelsea signed Courtois, he was the 19 year-old first-choice goalkeeper (benching Belgium's current #1 GK, Koen Casteels) who had two years senior experience and kept 14 clean sheets in a title-winning season for Genk. 

Mike Pender played his first senior game for Genk three days ago.
