Most embarrasing turn out

Chelsea only once went in the park lane in the game after the cup final, after that were always in the paxton.spurs never once appeared in the shed. Arsenal took it regulary from 69 onwards till the paint come out.west ham always in the shed and chelsea never went to west ham,

They also went in our east upper last home game of the season in 92, the same season we'd gone in their North bank, after our home game they came out after the game & it went off by the Black Bull, later on it went again on Hammersmith Green.
I dont get the east upper its almost a french approach but I suppose its a section of our ground and that's what counts. I can't see Johhny vaughen and David Baddiel steaming in these days!

I always thought London derbies were the worst games for aggro.

Particulary matches against Millwall & West Ham.

Most of all West Ham.

What made it worse I thought, was as we were all London/Essex boys you just couldn't tell by looking who was with who.

Everybody was dressed in the latest gear.

Bit of a mare if I remember correctly.

  Well that answered my question...Of how it stands TODAY..(or as it is now)

A little story about One of the Spuds top boys of these days. I shall give him a major pass by not naming him as i wouldnt like to muller his terrace credentials  :Connie_threaten:

I took him to his first ever football match way back around 1987ish, Stamford Bridge Shed End where he spent most of the first half in tears because he kept getting crushed on the old barriers. Ok so he was only a kid as i was aswell but im sure he would die if he was reading this now.

TT? just a guess.
Nah but he gets about with him. But that is one confused c**t if ive ever seen one. Infact the Danny Dyer and TT interview was one of the most cringeworthy things i have ever seen.

He did say he rated Chelsea so he's not a complete muppet!

I reckon us lot waiting for the Herd at the top of the steps at the back of the West Stand (late 80s?) was worse Carshalton.  They came up the steps and onto the concourse unopposed.  And we knew they were going to do it.
That was 86/87 season, the game where Colin West scored on his debut. They had a few in the west stand seats, but tbh i got in late, was told it had gone off before but nothing major. After the game they were cowering behind the old bill, cordened off. The police were hitting out at any Chelsea that got too close. To be fair to the gooners they had infiltrilted the chelsea section in the clock end at highbury earlier in the season, so they were well up for it at that time, while we were as a mob on a downer /wary following the first own goal trial. Tbh on that occasion they never even made it up the steps onto the actual terrace as chelsea swamped them.

Between 86 and the mid 90s they had a few lunatics following them who came from Hackney and Finsbury park but i dont think the numbers amounted to enough for them to be considered a heavy firm. One of them did take a coach load of Sheff Utd  just outside Finsbury Park station on his own though which according to a few people i know was one of the nuttiest things they ever saw.

Highbury away 29th April 1986 was a pretty poor turnout considering the numbers we had there a couple of years earlier. That was a few days after the first Operation Own Goals arrests and yet another defeat. I never saw us win there.

I only ever saw  one win there, the Boxing day match in 74.

I saw them win there 3-1 in 1970 always remember a towering Ian Hutchinson header at The North Bank end we was in the Kiddies enclosure parallel with it sparked my first experience of football violence (could be a start of a new thread) some young Arsenal Skin tried to nick the kids scarf next to me I grabbed hold of it a tug of war ensued which in turn went to kicks and punches got the scarf back 12 years old and hooked

I was at the 1974 win as a 12 year old. My family are all Arsenal and that was the only time I saw us win there until the 5-0 League Cup game and then our last ever game at Highbury when Robben and Cole scored.

Should have beaten them in the Cup replay early 70s when Ray Kennedy went down outside the box for a very dubious pen and they went on to win 2-1. That game upset me the most as a youngster. Quarter finals were few and far between for the next 20 odd years.

Also remember us losing there in the league cup when Brian Bason broke his leg.

Would love to see footage of either game if anyone has it.

Got my one wrong as well, I was also there when John Bumstead scored the only goal,1st season back up 89/90

The worst was Tottenham in 75, maybe that was a bit of a turning point as after that you could guarantee that Chelsea would show up.
