Next Coach?

I went out to central London today and as I was waiting to cross in a Leicester Square traffic light, Glasner and his wife were waiting for the green man by me. I was tempted to ask him to come to Chelsea, but didn’t want to spoil his day out.

Well done Blueco! they have made Iraola put Palace ahead of us because of their restrictive approach/model.

But he is at least thinking Palace over The Chels, surely not?

Palace a sideways move at best. Arguably a step down. They're losing Mateta and, quite likely, Wharton. Not sure why he'd quit the security of Bournemouth unless to step up.

Luis Enrique has one year left on his contract. Man United are allegedly after him. The bloke is a proper manager.

I think we end up with either Alonso or Felipe Luiz. We only get Alonso if we give him a lot more say in the run if of the club than previous managers and if Slot stays at Liverpool.

So that’s Alonso out of the equation.

I think this is the crossroads. The pivotal moment. If we "end up with" another young unproven manager then we are truly fcuckked. This is the time to get the best manager that we possibly can - dream BIG or we go down in flames.

I agree. One more young aspiring manager with little behind them as a player and a manager and this whole lot could well fall apart completely.

These people need to do whatever it takes to get Xabi Alonso. That gets immediate respect in this dressing room.

Say hullo to Marco Silva.

Well we'd have to start by convincing the board that there is, in fact, a correlation between who's managing the team and results.

I think they won't get this through their thick skulls before we're in league one.

They won't do it as they don't possess perception, how to read the situation and galvanise the whole club. Appoint Xabi Alonso this week with him taking over as soon as the season ends and you immediately change our outlook going into the two biggest games of our season.

A serial Champions League winner, multiple domestic league and Cup champion, World Cup winner, two time Euro winner. As a manager manages an invincible season with a domestic treble. This immediately gets the teams attention. This gets the Spanish and Portuguese speaking players buzzing. It galvanises the dressing room going into the Cup final with the new gaffer in the stands. We cannot be Spurs' salvation. If we can't relegate them we mustn't save them. Xabi watching from the stands maybe tells everyone around the club that this was the bottom and now we start to rebuild.

Will they do it, will they fck. Half arsed two Bob also ran incoming. Welcome Marco bloody Silva

Felipe Luiz seems most likely to me, given he was interviewed back when maresca left and is not put off by the project, as many are now rightfully so.

IF only there was a manager a little older (56?) and who has won the Champions League with two different clubs and who is absolutely desperate to manage a team in the Premier League. A manger who considers the Premier League THE best league and watches it avidly and even more than he watches La Liga. And maybe this manager plays a really exciting form of football and is also remarkable in his ability to adapt tactics/formations. One of the greatest managers of his generation and he still has lots to prove and he really is just waiting for an English club to come in for him. Sure, he will not be cheap, but look at how much BlueCo. have wasted on Mudryck, Garnacho and Gittens - whats thats 150 million quid-ish. The next manager is crucial for those numpties who call themselves sporting directors. IF only there was a manager like that. . . .desperate to manage a premier league team with ambition.

That rules out @Zeta 🤔

AND IF we do not appoint a proper grown up and experienced World Class manager we are going to lose our players and/or have the largest bomb squad in the history of football. Players are going to leave OR want to leave - some of them do already. IF Blueco. want players to stay they are going to have to sort out their side - hire a proper manager and get a proper Sporting director (one - and not a team of eejits).
