Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea (PL) Sat 11th May 24 17:30GMT

Gotta give major props to Sterling aswell, we give him a lot of shtick, but he turned up when needed today and grabbed a very important goal.

Absolutely needed these 3 points if we want a chance to get into Europe. Win our last 2 and it's very likely we can grab 6th place.

Agreed. Didn't play that fell but fought today. The 3 points was the most important thing. Both Newcastle and Man United will almost certainly drop points somewhere from their remaining games. 1 win for us might be enough but 2 should be for sure. Its a shame there aren't a couple more games or I might have even fancied our chances of catching Spurs.

[timetowaste]

Fair play lads for getting the win after that. At the start of the season we'd have just bent over and lost after it went to 2-1

[CFCCAN]

I never thought in a month of Sundays we were going to get 3 points from this game having watched the first 45, and a not so good start to the 2nd.  Subs definitely changed the game and fair play to our Manager who normally would make the subs far too late.   Despite Jackson's goal his overall performance was comical at times and has learned very little over the season; we are still seeing him make bad decisions, missing good chances and he still he can't keep the ball at his feet while attempting to dribble.   Poor Badieshille, while starting off the season pretty decent he has regressed in past months and his confidence seems to be shot at times.

Anyway...3 points with a couple of games to go.  If we do finish 6th it might be considered a decent season given all of the injuries and despite losing a cup final against an inexperienced Liverpool team.  Next season though a CL spot is the very least that will be demanded, with or without Potch.

As a former bricklayer I can tell you that's an insult to bricks..

that's bricks and sausages that have been insulted in here tonight...... a worrying trend

[Munkunku]

@Munkunku bet you were taking a piss at 3rd goal, cause I surely was

I’ve been at a proper football match today so unless you’re on about the John Kearns OG I have no idea.

Excellent win against a side with it all to play for.

We are a keeper, centre back and a striker away from being a very good side .

Onwards and upwards.

If I had to choose only one position to strengthen it would be a keeper first and foremost

[just]

My God, Poch missed a major opportunity in his SKY Sports post match interview. At the start the female presenter yabbled on a bit and then Jamie Redknob jumped in and said "hi Mauricio, Jamie Redknapp here" , if only Poch had replied " I'm sorry, who?" I'd have loved him forever.

I’d say 6th would be an excellent season. I remember the thread before the season started which asked where everyone thought we’d finish. Most had us between 6th and 8th.

[WhiteWall]

Well we go there in the end.

we seem to have a real problem playing teams at the bottom end.

i thought the subs helped us so fair play to poch. Also it’s nice to have players like nkunku , james ,gusto, sterling back gives us other options.

if we can get top6 this year it would be some achievement considering we were at one point 14th

And we've been sh*t throughout the season. We've been inconsistent during matches. We have effectively win this game with three well executed moves. The rest of the play was horrendous. But if we do get 6th and we do get the Europa league then none of our inconsistency matters. Until we're getting our arses handed to us by Cluj. Lol

[charierre]

God I love Thiago. Nearly as much as Kante. Brilliant footballers, top class blokes.

The signing of a top class Centre Back, who is a good organiser has to be a priority in the summer.

Agreed. Especially considering that our form has been closer to top 4 for the second half of the season.

Ah very good ... another three points and we're level with Newcastle !

[WhiteWall]

Like if Lukaku wasn’t a spoiled child or Morata wasn’t a complete pussy.

That's bang on actually.  I confess I never really took to Morata but even now I'd say that Lukaku,  fit and playing constantly  is still an elite player. It's when he opens his gob he makes a bellend of himself.

[erskblue]

Ideal start when we scored in the 7th minute. Great ball from Cole Palmer for Mudryk.

Then let them back into and control the game for large spells.

Agree that the subs changed it for us. Game in many ways kind of sums up our whole season. The inconsistency.

Thought Thiago Silva was immense at the back, again.

[Scott]

You can't help but wonder what the season would have looked like if Reece had been putting in crosses like that week in and week out.

Still felt the game was there to be won after conceding in the 75th minute. In previous years or even the early part of the season we’d of conceded way earlier and you never felt there was an equaliser coming, so this is a pleasant change

[General]

Todays match epitomized the whole season in 90 mins some good moments early on but mostly crap throughout until the end !
All joshing aside 7th seems a lot more appealing than 11th where the club seemed to have made its home up until a few weeks ago.
