Poch In or Out? The Mega-thread Merged

He said that because he CAN'T say " I have bunch of Championship players" just months after he arrived. That is what Todd and Co wanted, they to pull the strings about buying players, not managers or coaches. Why do you think Nagelsmann turned us down? Because he wanted to be part of that recruitment and Todd said NO.

Like i said minutes ago Todd and Co must stop thinking that here is US League or they have to sell the club as soon as possible.
Agree with everything. They even have their hand in picking the XI so it's just completely insane all over.

Thankfully the "trust the process" shouts have stopped. There is no process and no project, just a shell of a former great club remains!

It does not feel like Chelsea FC anymore. It really doesn't.

The only thing that scares me more than these unironic calls for a Mou 3.0 is I actually wouldn't put it past Clearlake to do it to buy themselves some time/good will.
With these owners, I think we are far more likely to end up with Potter 2.0 than Mourinho 3.0 LOL.

It's still far too early to sack him. At the bare minimum we owe him the chance to get the likes of Fofana, Nkunku and Lavia in the first team. Ideally we should give him the chance to add some experience during the January transfer window.

It felt like we were making progress in the first eight or so games, I'm not sure why it's gone so badly sour in the last four.

Hasn't improved 1 player Has not got a proper system in place. Has no plan B. The defence attack and midfield are all much poorer than last season.

You can expect this cycle every 6 months at Chelsea fans knee jerk reaction is to sack the manager start over again then when that manager fails do it all over again while other clubs at the top remain stable.

No.

We will bring someone else in and end up in the same situation. Need to get on the phone to some clubs in Saudi and see if they want some players on long term contracts.

January we shouldn’t sign a player under 26 and give this squad a hardworking backbone. They simply just look lost out there looking for someone to just hold their hand and carry them to win.

Any aspiring owners need look at Clearlake and see how not to run a football club when you takeover. Everything rushed and the turnover of players was ridiculous. We sold good players for players who might not even be good for a lot more money.

Doesn’t matter about potential because Havertz, Pulisic, Mount, Koulibaly, Jorginho, Ruben and co are all better players than what we have right now. The board gambled on potential and it’s gone tits up. If you sack the manager you are not believing in the project they wanted to implement. They need to give it an injection of experience to save our season.

I know we have young players and they could come good but right now they are not getting any positive experience. It’s just poor game after poor game. A player like Mudryk should be coming into a squad that’s playing well and thriving so he can have no pressure. We’ve thrown numerous players into an awful side all trying to gain experience. A lot of us were saying this at the beginning of the window and could see it a mile off.

I'd like to see how we go in our next few home games first. Even when we are at the top of our game, Everton away has never been one of our favourite grounds.  We've caught them at the wrong time too.  I'd be fuming if we don't beat Sheffield United and Newcastle in the cup but if we do, like I expect, things will look better....

I'd get Sean Dyche in.

He's working with absolute dross at Everton but he's got them organised and working their socks off for the shirt.

Yeah, it’s far too early to sack him.

We need to give him a season at the very least. Things aren’t pretty right now but hopefully we’ll add experience (and not injury prone!) to the squad in January and we’ll see how we get on for rest of season.

It’s too difficult to judge Poch imo because of how the owners basically brought a whole new team so we don’t really know what they are capable of really. The ones we know, they’re always injured - Chilwell, James.

I’d like to see how he does with a decent set of forwards. He’s been unlucky losing Chilwell, James, Nkunku, Badashiele, Chuka, Lavia to injuries. But there’s not much he can do with a front line of Broja and Jackson. He’s been fighting fires all season to be fair with so many key players not available. But the real damage was done when we failed to sign a replacement for Nkunku in pre season. We were f***ed from that moment and whoever made the decision at Board level to go into the season with Broja and Jackson as our front pairing is the one that should be sacked.

Sounds incredulous but the squad needs 6 or 7 signings in January and just as many outgoings primarily consisting of young players we've signed that will never be good enough.

Not much faith of it happening at best I think we'll move Broja and Madueke on but not sure we'll get the quality in.  Hopefully no more young players.

Poch is in a fortunate position, (at least with the fans) as the finger is pointed at the ownership decisions, and rightly so. However, that then puts us in a dangerous position of not truly evaluating what he is doing here. Nkunku is a total wild card and you have people acting we’re waiting on Diego Maradona to return to the side, Lavia too and the James injuries are a given now, so that’s a non-story. There’s no discipline, no organisation, nobody has improved.. not a soul, players playing out of position, any joy we have only comes out of pure chaos not control, I just can’t ‘see’ anything, struggling to find anything of merit going on here.

.. And ffs, even his pressers are a total waste, void of anything, just mumbling.

Don't know or care. Unless we shift  alot of the players we've just brought in, because they aren't good enough, it doesn't really matter who is in charge. That being said, I think Poch is dfefintely doing a bad job, even all things considered.

Disasi, Cucurella, Chalobah, Maatsen, Ugochukwu, Mudrky, Madueke, Broja

At the very least, all need to go.

And potentially:

Jackson, Sterling, Fofana, (depending on injuries: James, Chilwell]

Cleared out all the deadwood from the past few years, and now we're in the same situation again, but with worse players who cost more.

The thing is that no one can say for sure that Nkunku will be not the same flopp as previous attackers. Its the same for Lavia too.

Even if he is good enough, what about midfield, defence?

Spurs got it spot on with Ange, limitations of Spurs as an organisation will eventually chip away but nonetheless, I wish we could talk about Poch like this

Sacking him is ridiculous. I'd say give him until the end of the season after players are back from injuries and we have a few additions in the team. Last season was evidence enough that bringing in a caretaker can make things worse.
