Renato Veiga

Transfermarkt has a poor reputation in their market value analysis. Transfermarkt has Jackson’s market value currently at £35m yet CIES observatory has him at £73m, which is more in line to what young PL strikers are going for.

I mean it’s pretty obvious to see he will be the LB inverting into midfield or LCB, no?
£35m!?!?! £73m?!?!?!

For wacko jacko?!?!?!

I will have some of what those are smoking.

Not worth 3.5, let alone multiples of that!

Love this signing - not for the player who I have never heard of, and who may or may not be any good - but for the way in which we are signing him.

Not a dicky bird - and then BAM...he is signed.

It is like Colin Hutchinson is back as our MD. Love it.

The last player we signed from basel turned out alright....albeit, not for us.

You prefer a site that values Jackson at £73m ? O ... K ... 🙂

Personally I don't think anything is obvious in terms of our starting line up right now, and this Veiga guy has certainly had most of his limited experience to date at DM rather than LB or CB, so I doubt he's playing LB ahead of two specialist guys who are earning £175K and £200K a week, and if he's LCB then Colwill is probably on the bench, which again I don't see as very likely.

Surely more likely Veiga is on the bench, or left out of the match day squad completely.

A strange signing for me if it happens ...
I think it’s more in line with what we are currently seeing in the Premier League market. Especially for any young competent PL striker let alone one on a long term deal. Almost 20 goals all comps his debut season and none penalties.

Veiga was genuinely Calafiori’s  replacement at Basel before he moved to Bologna and their profile is very similar. I think the futures of Chilwell and Cucurella are uncertain. Especially the former.

The truth is probably somewhere in between. Jackson scored more goals than most of our strikers since Drogba.

He’s definitely worth more than we paid for him that’s for sure. Hes 23 and will definitely improve.

I’ll assume you don’t actually believe he’s only worth £3.5 million

Could be a very smart signing squad depth wise. And in reality even if he turns out to be fairly average for us, hes still going to move on for similar to what we've paid.

This type of signing underlines the new approach in recruitment.

We are not signing players everyone is talking about. We are signing either players we need or young prospects.

Veiga is just type Maresca wants. Versatile. Who knows if he is any good...

With him and Kellyman, at least we’ve proven we can sign players without any of the so called «ITK» knowing a damn thing about it. Thoroughly enjoy that
The Slightly worrying thing is we and the ITKs don’t know a damn thing about them even after we’ve signed them.

Im just wondering about the players we've already got, in multiple positions that have been signed for large sums, do they get a look in, where do they all play, when will the club sell any of the ones who havent made the grade yet?

We're just accumalating talent and can only ever play 11...

Maybe we've found the next Gusto?  Slightly different profile being taller and more versatile with positions, but can tell they're looking for the LB version of Gusto.

Works both ways in that case, many are assuming he's an automatic bust for the same reason.
Our transfer dealings reminds me of the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory where Veruca Salt's billionaire father buys shipments upon shipments of the chocolates in the hope of finding that golden ticket to please her daughter. Let's see when or if we find our golden ticket/player.

So which two are non golden tickets in your view out of Gusto, Caicedo and Palmer?

Why leave out Cucurella, Mudryk, Madueke, Jackson, Disasi, Badiashile, Moreira, Washington, Santos, Kellyman, Casedei, Guiu, Enzo, Lavia, Lesly, Carney, Angelo, Estevao, Tosin, Dewsburry Hall, Slonina, etc. They're all golden tickets. I don't doubt our SDs for a second.

One more versatile too. Hope they get this one right like Gusto.
