I know we've just gone behind but BBC have a 'no commentary' option on the red button. I have never been so happy at such a discovery. Sky Sports etc need to introduce this on a per innate basis. All I can hear is stadium sounds and no inane, boring, inaccurate drivel. OMG I'm in paradise.

Sterling has been England's best player thus far - playing in the hole. 

Rooney on the left is better than Looney up top on his own or in the center. But he is too lazy in defense and that might cost England

Rooney is a total liability because he is not picking anyone up. He is marking space and giving Italy all the time in the world down their right hand side.

 
As I suspected, baines is being found out at the highest level..Roy you should have picked cole, big mistake

 
How did we let Sturridge go?  Well after he banged in goals for fun as the center striker we decided to play him on the wing, knowing that his goal scoring was his best attribute and his link up play certainly not, and then said he wasn't up to snuff (and we also didn't like that he was a hungry player instead of someone content to sit on the bench and collect a paycheque).  Another team bought him, actually played him as a striker and he was the second top scorer in the league that season.  Now we'll be seeking to do the same with Lukaku it would appear.

 
That would have been quite the goal by Balo, Italy with two huge chances before the break

He is even worse in the center or up top - Sturridge already outscoring him at World Cups  :laugh2:

I have used it too, but put five live on...Phil Neville's dour synopsis next to the mediocre guy Mowbray made this sound like an end if season meaningless affair

What's worrying is that, those last 5 minutes, Italy broke forward and through us with seeming ease. If we give them lots of chances, they'll score.

I think we're lucky to be at one-one.

 
Balotelli probably couldn't believe his luck when he looked around and saw Hart just standing there like a moron.

Gotta disagree Brit. Baines has had absolutely no cover whatsoever from Rooney.

Rooney thinks its enough just to be goal side. It isn't. You have to close down and get tight to your opponent. Not stand off them and give them time to play.
