Carney Chukwuemeka

Assuming we sign Caicedo which looks to be in the pipeline that leaves us with Enzo and Caicedo as the only 2 CM's really good enough to start for us now. We're desperate for someone a bit older in the middle, if that happens i'd have Chuk as 4th choice.

Enzo/Caicedo/New cm/Chukwuemeka.

Sell Gallagher.

Loan Santos/Casadei.
If we play 433 like Pochettino normally does we will need more than 2 experienced CM's to be signed. Ideally 3 and that's assuming Mount stays.

Carney would be more like 6th choice as I see no benefit in us selling Gallagher now. Even if you think he's awful and won't ever improve, we can still get the same amount or close to the quoted £20m after a season under Pochettino.

I’d be keeping Gallagher and carney and buying Caicedo. That’s 4 competing for 3 spots in 4 3 3 and about right. Carneyanfgalkagher both need minutes. If we alsough bought say Barella I can’t see carney getting the minutes.

Sure Pochettino always favoured a 4231 at Spurs? Only need to cover the double pivot, we've got a plethora of talent for the front 4 spots.

He may have used 4231 at Spurs due to Eriksen being one of their best players but I'm pretty sure he favors 433.

Can't see anything other than Enzo plus one other in a pivot (need cover too) and Nkunku and the '10' that can drop deep to progress the ball or run off the striker. Then you have winger either side and big striker up top.

He had to accommodate both Dele and Eriksen somehow. Varied from a 4231 to 343. Typically Dier would drop with the CBs and Eriksen would transition centrally and Walker taking up that right space.

Can't really speculate until we see what he does preseason.

Thought he was our best player whilst he was on the pitch last night. His touch, control and vision were superb. He thinks and moves faster than some of the players around him.

very fast feet, good positions on the field, fast decision making, turns cleverly and well paced passes, he kind of has two assists in two games. Has to stay. I can see two out of Action Jackson, Nunku and Carney starting most weeks

Sure, but how do you know he has higher potential?
It's not that complicated, age and quality can pretty much indicate that? If someone is younger and playing better than someone who's older, you can pretty much determine that the younger player has a higher ceiling.

For example, I think Carney has more potential than Gallagher. The stats will say otherwise, but Carney is 4 years younger and I see far more quality on the ball from him than I do Gallagher. So I would say he has a higher ceiling.

I hope you're right. I've not seen Chukwumeka do anything in a Chelsea shirt as yet and certainly couldn't say he's better than either Ruben or Conor.

Carney's younger and played better than Foden this pre season, but you couldn't say his ceiling is higher for example. Its all opinion at the end of the day no one truly knows how someone's career will turn out.

Foden... Really?? That's a completely unfair comparison.

He's just saying that he could be.

Carney could be a key first team player for us over the next decade.

Ruben isn't. Conor likely isn't going to be.

It's one of the least controversial statements I've seen on here 🤣
