I have been really lucky and meet quite a few past and present players over the years some of my fav’s were :

Chopper and Ossie at Gatwick departures lounge flying out to Stockholm in 98 had time for everyone

Ruud and his missus (she was a stunner) in a hotel in Wembley a lot as his agent was based across the road . Really nice and funny guy .

Frank Sinclair in a London club after beating Brugge at the bridge .....asked if he would like to practice some lines with me which was a bit stupid when I think back on it.

Vialli was an interesting one he was over to sort out where in England he was going to play and was 90% certain to join Arsenal . Spent the weekend with David Platt being taken for dinner and shown around . This was why all the stories were out of Ian Wright joining us , the board wouldn’t allow Wright to be sold to us so we got Vialli ...........nice one

The day I meet Mata and Lampard will be a fantastic day indeed. I'll woo Juan with my spanish speaking skills and Frankie boy for that matter, they'll have to love me after that!!

Your female and have a pulse , that combination usually works for most footballers .........................

Mine is more of a close one - met my partner 4 years ago and discovered 6 mths later her cousin was the late Peter Osgood, at least I am connected with a very Chelsea biased family :) - whilst not a happy occasion she did meet Lamps and JT amongst others at the funeral.

Did meet Dave Beasant once however, we were both getting our eyes tested in the opticians which had me concerned! Nice guy however.

He's not chelsea but I got ian wright in a headlock once ;-D lol scoobyblue will remember this, also saw jody morris in a service station but didn't have chance to say hello.
Haha :laugh2: ! You actually chased Ian Wright to grab hold of him. I've actually never seen you move so fast. I don't think his entourage were too happy you'd escaped their grasp either :laugh2:

For me, I once had Kenny Monkou and Gareth Hall sat behind me in the east stand when I was a kid. I spoke to Kenny during the game and he happily signed my programme. I didn't really bother with Gareth. Ken had won the player of the year the season before and I was starstruck.

Well this time last year I was in the VIP area at the Player of the Year awards, hob-nobbing with all of the first team squad, youth, reserves and various other ex players and managers.

Before that I met JT, Scott Parker and Wayne Bridge at the horse-racing. It was mid-week and pre-season, they weren't drinking but I was. They were excellent, all three of them willing to chat about the squad and what they expected from the season ahead, I had photo's with all of them and got a couple of tips off them. When I was showing one of my mates the photo's we found that they hadn't come out very well, I explained that to JT and he got the other two over for another round of photo's. I then asked him to phone my brother who was in Australia, he duly ablidged and left a message as my bro didn't answer. Said bro deleted the message when he heard it because he thought it was a joke!

Also conga'd with the King of Stamford Bridge the day Makalele scored!

Kerry Dixon, David Speedie, Colin Pates, John Bumstead, Steve Clark, Mickey Droy, Clive Walker, Nigel Spackman, Mark Hughes . There’s a few more I could add but the one that stands out upper most was the King of Stamford Bridge.

Bumped into him in a pub in Cookham. The second I walked in I recognised him standing alone at the bar one lunchtime. Me and my mate walked up to the bar keeping a respectful distance away, ordered our drinks and whilst keeping my eyes firmly on the barman said, ...and what ever Mr Osgood is having.

He graciously declined my offer but instead engaged us in conversation for the next 45 minutes or so until the guy he was waiting for eventually turned up.

An absolute gent of the highest order. The legend that is Peter Osgood.

I've met Frank Leboeuf and Ed de Goey at an away game in Leeds. Met and had a picture taken with Dennis Wise at the Vitesse Umbro tournament in Arnhem. But the best was bumping into Roman Abramovich during the World Cup in Germany. I was there for the game against Ivory Coast and saw him walking around the main square in Stuttgart with a few bodyguards. I asked one of them if I could take a picture with him and he told me ask him yourself. I went up to him and asked if he wanted to have a picture with me. My friend was tellin me to show him my CFC tattoo. He asked me what he said and i translated it for him. He gave me a big smile and a Chelsea pin. I was so nervous that I forgot to put my shirt on. Look at the Dutch clowns at the back wondering why I wanted to have a picture with this guy

A couple of quality posts there fellas... Roman is 'proper' Chelsea now, i'm so glad he choose us and we didn't up with any of these Yank/Arab mercenaries.

Alan

Johnny Bumstead at the Pizza Express on Fulham Road just before a game, he was injured so wasn't playing that week.

Peter Bonetti when I was a kid, my dad played in a charity cricket match in Tonbridge Wells and he was on their team. My memory also says Jimmy Greaves was there, if my dad can remember I'll have to ask him.

Dennis Wise in Tromso - we went to the Radisson for dinner before the game and the team were having dinner themselves, met a few players but talked to Dennis and got a kiss.

Went into the dressing room on my dad's 65th birthday which I organized with the physio at the time whose name I've forgotten must be 18 years ago but my dad knew him so he fixed up a visit on match day.

Kerry Dixon was doing a book signing about 1985 in the West End in a bookies under the office I was working in. Got in line and bought a book and had him sign it.

Met Dennis Wise at an FA Cup first round tie at Hayes Football Club in 1994 ironically the year we got to the final. He was sitting just behind us and we had a great laugh.

Was lucky enough to get into the players bar at Stamford Bridge around the same time after the home game against Spuds. The only player not drinking in there was Ruud Gullit ...how times have changed.

In 2004 I was staying at the Chelsea hotel and walked out the lift straight into JT on his mobile and then realized the entire squad was there. This was just before the team played Fulham away.

Again at the Chelsea hotel where we were staying during our double winning season when we played Man City at home I met Carlo, Joe Cole and Daniel Sturridge where they were having breakfast on the morning of the game. I said to Carlo "Are we going to win today Carlo?" He replied "We hope!". ...we lost 4-2! ...but still went on do the double.

That is an absolutely amazing picture!! Lucky you. I would treasure that picture for ever.

I used to get all the Chelsea players' autographs at their Mitcham training ground in the late 60's when I was a lad, and some of them would have a chat even though we were kids. Ron Harris was always very quiet, even then, I think it's just his nature.

I remember Peter Osgood recognising me once, telling me that he'd given me his autograph just the other day - "why do you want another one, are you flogging them at school?" and having a laugh with Charlie Cooke. Made my day - sorry, year.
Was proud to have met some of the guys in a Legends Tournament last year and had a Chelsea shirt signed. Hope to do the same on this weekend again. Met players such as Frank (The Beef) Leboeuf, Gianfranco (Franco) Zola, Roberto (Champions League Champion Manager) Di Matteo, J.F. Hasselbaink, Gus Poyet, Scott Minto, Ken Monkou. These lads are really friendly and came over freely and had a chat and snapped a few photos.

Never in my life would I have thought of chatting to a future Champions League Manager. Robbie comes over as a really great but humble guy. Hope he comes again this weekend and I am sure he will be a massive crowd puller.

Can I ask a question ? Did you speak and did he reply in English ? Reason I ask is that his PR guys claim he can speak no English, which I doubt very much, even in his recent court case it was all done through an interpreter find that very odd if he is not near fluent in English

I read an interview with Ron Harris yesterday and in it he said that when they first met he used a translator but that his English was okay back then. Maybe he's just more comfortable in Russian.

Can't find a link to the article.

Ofcourse Delby I will. Too bad of the people behind it.

Yes he spoke English. Because there was some rumour goin on back then that Frank would leave for Barcelona due to his Spanish missus. I've asked him please not to sell him. He laughed and said no I won't...

I met Drogba in 2004 when he was about to sign for Chelsea. I was on a stadium tour and he was outside the reception on his phone wearing a camouflage jacket and trousers. I didn't know much about him but was told who he was so went up to him. We didn't really talk though as he didn't speak much English.
If only you'd have known he would turn into Chelsea royalty!

I have my favorites but all are good people.

No current fellows. Don't know why. I'll keep it up though. Drogba is fair game now.

I was Mascot back in the 80's , 86 to be exact, not mentioning the game as the photo is quite unflattering.

Had my picture taken with Kerry Dixon and Johnny B before the game, Bumstead was a family friend at the time and a really nice person, Kerry promised me a goal and he scored within 2 mins of kick off.

I then met Kerry many years later in a pub in Hertfordshire that he was managing and he wasnt exactly the Hero that i remembered from my childhood. " ohwell we all have off days i guess "

And mid season this year my son went to Cobham with my Dad.

J.T and Super Frank stopped their motors and had photos done with him, and most of the squad signed his shirt aswell.

Only disapointment was Drogba who totally blanked him, but seeing what THE DROG done in Munich i think my boy has nearly forgiven him.

Also met The Cat just before the Wigan FA Cup game this season and he was a perfect gent, stopping for photos for anyone who asked him.
