Enzo Maresca - Chelsea "Head Coach" *Official NOW SACKED*

I'm so glad this has all come out officially, the Maresca fan boys can stop believing he was some sort of martyr that left millions on the table because he didn't like the owners. In reality, he was plotting to slither his way over to Man City. Good riddance, I look forward to Man City's collapse when his dire football has them moving down the table and the fans turn on him within a couple of years.

 
He planned to leave in advance and he did it in a way where he knew everyone would think the directors forced him out. He didn't even say bye to the players. Left the owners scrambling for a manager at zero notice and was one of the main reasons why a not great start to the season spiralled even further downwards. Wonder if he's been made to buy out the rest of his contract (city will still probably be covering it regardless).

Absolute twat with zero professionalism, hope he fails miserably at City.

Found out about City's interest, immediately notified Chelsea about the approach and made his intentions clear so they could plan for it. Also paid the club compensation in line with his contractual obligations. No cloak and dagger stuff on his part.

Ultimately, he's in his rights to take better opportunities when they come along. Just like it's in the clubs rights to sack him if they decide they want someone else.

Met with City behind our back twice, despite signing a contract extension with us. If he hadn't done anything wrong, he and City wouldn't be paying us any compensation.

He's a hairless freak with no spine.

Strange statement by the club IMO.

Despitetheir intentions, Maresca has actually come out if this looking very professional.

Found out about City's interest, immediately notified Chelsea about the approach and made his intentions clear so they could plan for it. Also paid the club compensation in line with his contractual obligations. No cloak and dagger stuff on his part.

Ultimately, he's in his rights to take better opportunities when they come along. Just like it's in the clubs rights to sack him if they decide they want someone else.

You talk about compensation. City clearly went against both FA and PL rules by approaching him and as a consequence I would suggest City have paid a settlement to include a sum that means we don’t report them.

Then you come to Maresca paying. Are you able to point to any other manager who leaves voluntarily having to pay compensation? I am far from sure that other than a buy out clause anyone bar a club has paid compensation.

Weird statement from the club, essentially washing dirty laundry in public.

Probably would have been a much better strategy to make no comment at all and then go all in on the Alonso positive PR when he starts officially on 1st July.

Maresca’s a snake, but we look really petty here. If anything, this tells me that the protests may have had a bigger effect than we might thought. Someone at the club seem desperate to put the blame for the sh*tshow last season elsewhere

 
Maresca to Manchester City has been confirmed.

The club has also released a statement without mentioning his name.

I disagree. It's nice to see the club stick up for itself for once instead of just going along with anything. The club didn't just find out about the approach, City had clearly made an illegal approach to Maresca behind the clubs back.

What happened is exactly how I said it happened at the time. Maresca was approached by City without our permission and had his head turned. From that moment, he stopped going along with being the yes man and set things in motion to get the sack, the owners never took the bait though and Maresca resigned. The media and some fans were made to believe that the whole "worst 48 hours" comment and his eventual resignation was because the owners weren't going to back him by signing another CB, but it had nothing to do with it, it was just Maresca trying to force his way out of the club.

The stories I am hearing is that is a lot more than £17 million. It appears also that there was an insistence that Maresca personally apologise and pay compensation and it be stated in the press release that this was the case.

That rumours is suggesting that Maresca is liable to pay back the sum paid to Leicester

 
I should add that it’s unlikely that we will report City for tapping up but I do wonder if the PL will charge them with failing to act in good faith towards us

He actually wanted out after 6 months of joining us. He was on standby to go... I know this for fact.

Good riddance, I look forward to him trashing City into alsorans... that is after six months of pep football is ditched in favour of the most turgid, wretched football ever seen in the Premier Leauge/ Stamford Bridge.

Big up Alonso, if he gets a tune out of our hugely underperforming squad, we could finish above city in next two seasons.

 
Turns out he’s not only got a sh*t footballing philosophy but also a sh*t personal one as well.

Knew something was off when he dressed like a hobo every game despite being Italian and residing in West London.

Horrible human being, firmly cemented as the second most detestable coach ever to grace this glorious club.

Condolences to all City fans for the absolute shower of sh*t you’re about to be forced to sit through.

He had been at the club just over a year and decided he wanted to leave, held meetinfs with another club then used the media to create a rumour he had been treat badly by us. Thats not even close to being professional.
