No spoilers but i thought it was a decent start. Plenty of scene-setting which is understandable.

yes it went pretty much as expected, was surprised at who the "old friend" he was waiting for turned out to be !

To be honest, I absolutely hated season 7, so far it's been okay, but I don't understand why there's so much filler for a 6 episode season.

Season 8 episode 2 was a wonderful episode, beautiful written; it expertly juggled the large cast of characters and created a great sense of foreboding for the upcoming battle. The best episode since Season 4/5. 

That bit with Jaime and Brienne had me in tears, as did the Sansa and Theon moment. 

Ahhh, shame they are all going to die anyway...
