Would he have saved any if his confidence hadn't been affected by being subbed off for the last one?

 
Well, at least the Dutch are a bit more dignified in their loss than the Brazilians. The score may have something to do with that :-)

 
Feel bad for Holland I think they shaded it.

Messi about 2 touches in the second half and they try to compare him to Maradonna ?

As amazing as he may be sometimes, he does f**k all when he hasn't got the ball. It can be the 5th minute of the first half and you will see him walking around the pitch aimlessly. Does nothing to get the ball back ever and only ever tries when he is in possession of the ball.Give me a hard-working, die on the pitch type of player every day over Messi's flair.

 
So if van Gaal was a genius for switching keepers before the previous shoot-out, does he get the blame for sending Ron Vlaar up to take their first tonight?

Commiserations to the Dutch though. Would have preferred them to go through.

 
I don't know if I have said it here but I said it's either going to be Argentina to win the world cup or Germany, so I guess I was right.

But I'm still going to back Argentina for this final, they are the ones I have been saying are going to win it before it started.

It's all just a load of stupid hype anyway, if you watch it in foreign television they wouldn't have even said a word about it, but because he's the next United manager well yeah he's going to be getting praised for any little thing he has done.

 
Well it is shades of Italia 90 Argie vs Germany final, a terrible one ! after a great competition, only difference this time Germany deserve to be in the final.

Really want Germany to win, reasons are :

1. This European teams don't win in South America is getting boring

2. They have been the best team

 
can't imagine Brazil v Holland is going to be anything; neither wants to be there and I'm sure the Brazilians don't want to appear in public for a while after last night

 
Third place playoff should be scrapped.  Who gives a sh*t?  Who remembers?  

 
I'm backing Germany for the final, they've played the best football and aren't reliant on one player.

 
It's one thing playing with caution, but totally different to playing not to lose, and leave it to the penalty shootout. Pity LVG ran out of subs before he could put the Krul on Argentina. LVG is certainly results driven, so won't be surprised to see him park the double deck bus at the Bridge next season.

Germany to win, the only time that got through the knock out rounds with goals in all games, and never look like playing Russian roulette with the Penalty shootout.
