Marc Cucurella

I thought he had an excellent world cup. As i said previously there are many players I would have sold before considering letting Cucurella go. He isn't a great defensive full back and can be a bit headless sometimes but he was one of very few players in our squad who showed up week in week out with what I considered to be a committed to the team winning mentality. That goes a long way for me. Yes it should be the minimum expectation of any professional footballer but the truth is many don't have it.

 
Look I don't really mind us selling Cucu but why are people here pretending he wasn't one of Spains best players alongside Rodri and Cubarsi

Because they are not able for being objective or they don't want to because of their personal feeling toward the player, hardly a matured trait such behavior. More often than not, they even went hyperbole in discrediting the players as if it would make their claim more valid.

Ever since cucu won the euro, he's been a consistent performer overall, Chelsea should have never taken a loss for his sale. It's ridiculous for the board to value gusto at 75mils while cucu is only at 50mils despite highly rated globally.

If only we were all just so emotionally mature as you, is that right? Maybe we should just try and hand wave off racism, thats pretty emotionally mature...right?

I think you got the wrong idea. That line was used to point out he got 'caught in the moment'. Never once I said it's okay for him to do that just because he sang along. You have a weird comprehension if you think that way.

Everybody who sang that song are wrong but the one who initiated is more wrong. That 'caught in the moment factor' is the one I used to consider his apology acceptable and thus move on, no need to put it as lifetime crime for him. Remember that he has apologized, had he not, then I wouldn't be so kind with my view.

Fully agree here. I think a lot of fans on here have always had something against him and I don’t understand why.

He’s one of the most committed players we have and we sold him.

Just like the Euros he’s been one of the best most consistent performers during the World Cup.

We will miss his mentality a lot this season.

He wasnt very committed the last 4 months of last season, in fact he was an absolute disgrace for the majority of it and was blatantly saving himself for the world cup.

 
Here in Spain Cucurella has had a significant reduction in value since the World Cup.

guy is a character we will miss, not so much his positional play, but anyone who carries the world cup in a plastic bag like its a goldfish won at a fun fair while wearing a sweatband passes the fit and proper human test for me. Will welcome him back at the Bridge when he comes back.

Looking bang average for Madrid.

Great fee we got for him. His real quality shows when the squad isn't built around him.

 
He's been doing well for Madrid, and they are happy with how he's working out. Great fee we got from them but he's doing well there.
