Poch In or Out? The Mega-thread Merged

I think the Jose debacle is just revisionism at this point. What's Jose done lately? Kept Roma exactly where they are in the league? His experiences at United and Tottenham weren't good either were they. And I would dare say his 2nd stint at Chelsea crippled us in the long run letting two of the greatest players the Premier League has ever had go.

I don't see him coming here and magically whipping players into shape, he lost his touch years ago. Could he control Tottenham? United? I can't see him coming here and controlling these players besides falling out with them and we'll have another player revolt on our hands.
The only thing that scares me more than these unironic calls for a Mou 3.0 is I actually wouldn't put it past Clearlake to do it to buy themselves some time/good will.

Roma hasnt won sh*t for years and he got them their first ever European trophy

they have literally 0 money to spend and they kept the team afloat despite tons of injuries forcing him to put his best midfielder in the CB
The equivalent of Intertoto cup. Great achievement

Arsenal's squad vs Brentford

Raya - 28

White - 26

Saliba - 22

Gabriel - 25

Zinchenko - 26

Rice - 24

Havertz - 24

Odegaard - 24

Saka - 22

Martinelli - 22

Jesus - 26

Only 5 players that are 25 and over, nobody over 30

Chelsea's squad vs Everton

Sanchez - 26

James - 23

Disasi - 25

Badiashile - 22

Cucurella - 25

Enzo - 22

Caicedo - 22

Murdyk - 22

Gallagher - 23

Palmer - 21

Broja - 22

So that's 3 players 25 and over. Sterling usually starts, which makes it 4. Our squad is only slightly younger than Arsenal's, yet they're in 2nd and we're 11th.

I don't think age is a good enough excuse to justify Poch's tenure.
It's not age, I've said this all season, it's inexperience.

Saka is young, but he's experienced. Is Palmer (our best player at the moment) experienced? Definitely not.

Most of these players have come here all at once, playing together for the first time. Many of them have never played in the Premier League before until now. But the most important thing is most of them haven't even played together before until the season started. This was a huge risk by the Ownership, and I think it's huge naivete on their end which has no doubt crippled us at the moment.

Sacking Poch won’t make a damm bit of difference until the players up their game. Give him his two years and like I keep repeating like a broken record adjust your expectations we are a 10-8th place TEAM now at best. Individually we have good players but together they are no where near what they should be now.

Caicedo, Disasi, Sanchez, Palmer and Jackson were all signed under Poch. That's £240m spent.

Did Poch not want those players? Then why isn't he speaking up the way Conte did in 2017? As far as we're aware, he's approved all of those signings.

And Caicedo was literally Brighton's best player last season, yet he looks mediocre here. Is that not a sign of a poor system from Poch?

Poch openly spoke up about a lot of those players, he isn't as Firey or combative as Conte which is why he was hired.

But he stressed he needed experience all summer and I believe he said he was surprised we'd signed Palmer before calling him a fantastic player but he clearly wasn't involved.

Caciedo for  £115m is a ridiculous fee but it wasn't driven by Poch.

We'd have paid £600m for Caciedo if Liverpool went that high because Boehly treats the Market like a personal challenge and simply won't miss out on whatever youth player he's decided is our holy grail.

That's irrelevant to my point though, they're still not anywhere near as experienced as the Arsenal team.

Saka and Martinelli have been playing for Arsenal since 2018.

Enzo hasn't even been here a full year yet, Caicedo just joined and wasn't starting games until last season, Jackson new, Palmer new, Sanchez new (but does have PL experience). Our most experienced player is Raheem Sterling and it's only his 2nd season at the club. Surely this should tell you an awful lot about the state of things here?

Our most experienced Chelsea players are Silva, James, and Chilwell, the latter two are constantly injured and miss half the season, the former is a legend but he's nearly 40.

That's my point, I'm not saying it's right, I'm not saying Boehly isn't at fault, or even Pochettino isn't at fault. The point here is that this team is very inexperienced and I believe that's the biggest factor here, age has little to do with it so it's a pointless metric to compare against other teams.

Pochettino has spoke about the inexperience and comparing his time at Southampton. He mentioned there will be inconsistent results. He's not wrong. Of course, there's things he could do differently, but not much. Apart from playing certain personnel in natural positions, what other option does he have? The main attacking player we bought in summer has been injured since pre-season. Poch also doesn't have an established striker or even goal scorer. Sterling is our best goal scorer, which says it all really. We don't even have a 15 goal a season attacking player, let alone a 20+ goal a season striker. I'm not sure I would have got rid of Koulibaly from defence. Unfortunately we also sold Giroud, but that was under Roman, which was a silly idea in hindsight.

I dont think theres any way more chaos  through firing and hiring will help us - even though performances and results are piss poor at the moment. We all thought anyone would be better than Potter, and then that anyone would be better than Lampard. We are broken, and there is no magic pill that will solve that for us in the short run

There is a magic pill. Todd and Co to stop thinking that is US league without relegations and such American craps. DO you remember when he arrived what he said?

"I can't believe that in European football there is a thing such as relegation. It must be removed"

Pochettino says injuries are too much for him to build something solid. Sanchez and Cucurella are now injured. (@NizaarKinsella) #CFC
Another bullsh*t excuse from him. I've had it.

Who's out that we are really missing? Nkunku is a wild card so nobody knows and Chilwell who the gaffer tried to convert into a poor winger. Otherwise it's the squad players that would be unlikely to play all that much anyways.

We have both of the most expensive midfielders in the world, they have both been healthy for every single game and they look like the Chuckle Brothers under Pocher. He's got zero excuses and he's got to go.

Expect him to be sacked tomorrow.

We're better than under Lampard and about equal to where we were under Potter I'd say.

He said that because he CAN'T say " I have bunch of Championship players" just months after he arrived. That is what Todd and Co wanted, they to pull the strings about buying players, not managers or coaches. Why do you think Nagelsmann turned us down? Because he wanted to be part of that recruitment and Todd said NO.

Like i said minutes ago Todd and Co must stop thinking that here is US League or they have to sell the club as soon as possible.

Caicedo looked fantastic at Brighton, Colwill looked great too, are they 'championship' players now?

Werner and Havertz also looked great, Pulisic too. Now are they showing great skills????????

He's missing his first choice LB, RB and Nkunku.

Take away those key players from any top side and they would struggle but on top of that he has no real tactics and we play an open game against anyone while having a highly inconsistent squad of inexperienced players.

Sacking him now won't change anything.

I think it’s right, not excuses. Is that 11 players out now? Remember it’s not short term, many of these injuries are long term. Current players are over played, lack of competition m, no solutions. Depending on how long Sanchez is out for, we will be relying on a young unproven goalkeeper

I hope the board and fans appreciate this as it’s a massive factor which is hindering Poch
Dont think Sanchez being injured is a problem, he can't play any worse than he has already. I'd rather an upcoming keeper with passion than the lemon we currently have to suck up.

I thought we'd have a better season, signs in pre-season looked promising.

More widely, I think everyone is still feeling the effects of playing a World Cup in winter and delaying leagues has done (My suspicion - Thanks FIFA)

injuries appear to be blighting the league this season. Alongside us are Spu*s, Newcastle, United, Sheffield, Brentford and Bournemouth. 8 or more injuries.

https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php

Across the league 137 players out. Many muscle injuries.

In the women's game boots are one of the major contributors to injuries, or training pitches/ training and possibly think fatigue as excessive amounts of football and travel for pre-season. Certainly, players are also dropping with more heart problems over a wider number of years.

Either way, it's hampering CFC. it sucks and it's another write off season.
