Salt of the earth you scousers.Never do anything wrong. I suggest you wake up and smell the coffee mate. Get those blinkers off. Get on any other website and see who's fans are hated the length and breath of the country for their appalling behaviour. I'm sure LFC fans who were there are going to blame everyone and anyone but themselves.

Yes i have my opinion and yes it conflicts with yours, but i'm entitled to it and i'm not alone.

Blame the police for Hillsborough, Blame the Italians, Chelsa, Millwall or anyone you like for Heysel. Ignore all the negative history surrounding your club and its wonderful fans.

Yet the fact of the matter is, no matter who you blame the mjority of football fans, while accepting it was a terrible tragedy that should never have happend blame YOU.

you really are a c**t arent you? I'm not gonna bother anymore, you have shown yourself up as an ignorant muppet who cannot distinguish between proven fact and newspaper lies. Is it because there werent any tits on page three of the Taylor report? I hope it never happens, but one day if you or your family get caught up in such a tragedy, I really hope that people beleive it was your fault.

OK, I came late to this little spat, and I've just spent an age reading through all the posts. My view is that I may have been harsh about both tragedies in the past, and I'm willing to listen to Rob's reasoned explanations. Some of my colleagues on this forum might not be so willing.

However, without casting any nasturtiums at Liverpool supporters in either case, the plain fact remains that it was these two incidents, Hillsborough more than Heysel, that caused English stadia to be made all-seater. I think that that was the thought behind the original post that said something along the lines of "standing areas will never happen because......"

Cheers

Kev

So am I. It's when he starts calling Chelsea fans pr***s and c***s on a Chelsea fans forum that I get bored.

I accept that Liam, and i have apologised a few times in this thread alone for being antagonistic, and i mean no offence to any of you other than the man that those comments were aimed at. I know i am on your turf here, and i also know that i would probably not say those things to the fells face (as i am a coward) but his attitude angers me. I could use less colourful language but my feelings towards him would remain the same so it would be fruitless.

that post is fair, all that it would take is for attitudes regarding hillsborough to alter. If the post had read "standing areas will never happen because of hillsborough" rather than because of scousers, then this argument would not have ensued.

you really are a c*** arent you? .
I have agreed with you mostly on this thread and I do admit to disagreeing with my fellow Chelsea fans however I'm not having this.

You may dislike c3Blu's opinion but I don't recall him making remarks like this about you.

I realise you have apologised but that is the second apology in this thread which makes it seem like the apologies are not genuine.

All in all I think you have contributed well to the CSR (some may disagree) and that is why I haven't just banned you for this. Last warning.

OK I'll add my 2 bob's worth!

Starting with the Hillborough disaster, because thats what it was, a disaster. Innocent football fans killed at a football match, its a tragedy!!

I use the term innocent because a majority of those killed were at the front and not responsible for the cause of events. The stewards and ground officials could have ''opened the gates'' at the edge of the pitch earlier to ease the overcrowding. The police ''opened the gates'' outside to allow more supporters into the ground. AND like it or not Liverpool fans WITHOUT tickets did contribute to this disaster by trying to gain entry without paying or without a ticket.

Why did the police allow more fans inside when it was already overcrowded? That was and should have been the underlying question to this investigation. The police's response was because of the safety fears outside the ground for the surges that were pushing towards the turnstiles.

Arguements aside, who's fault it was etc, the fact is that many innocent football fans who went to watch an FA semi final never made it home that day. There were lessons to be learnt, but going back to the arguement, I still honestly believe standing areas could be deployed safely rather than just saying, right everyones gotta sit down!

This was the reason for the Taylor reports and for his recommendations into all seater stadia.

Liverpool fans were not totally, but I must admit partly responsible for the events. In saying that, the 'draw' of Liverpool at the time and their vast following ''Liverpool'' could be replaced by any other club. But you cannot rewrite history so unfortunately ''Liverpool'' it was.

I won't even attempt to go into defending Liverpool supporters for what happend in Turin or on the way home from Turkey, (I wasn't me it was a different Liverpool fan), because I can't. It's another arguement all together.

I will mention, more recently though, Millwall were fined due to ''failing to control supporters'' in a game at the new Den against Liverpool. This was, by the way, for Liverpool, yes, LIVERPOOL supporters trying to get onto the pitch and ripping their seats up.

These are also the same Liverpool supporters that wrecked old trafford scrawlling the 'Munich 58'', ''Harold shipman'' in their toilets and rocking an ambluance containing an injured player on his way to hospital.

I don't want to start raising particluar events or mud slinging because I'm sure there are certain individuals who do and will be bring shame on our club in issolated incidents. But your incidents are not 'what a kid did at a train station', they involved more than one or two supporters of your club, and have been talked about worldwide!

It great to have 'history' but it cannot be swept away or brushed aside at the earliest convenience. It's even better to learn from history, something I don't thing Liverpool, or at least their supporters have done.

I'm sure your a decent supporter/bloke RedRob and have enjoyed several of your threads, but you are defending people you probably wouldn't enjoy spending an holiday with. Every club has it's scummy attraction but in todays climate your's seem to attract more than the norm. Only my opinion, but from personal experience.

The suspension from European competition without doubt effected Liverpool more than ANY other English club, you have not won a league since and were eclipsed by Manu your bitterest rival in the equation!

Some once said....

We were born by chance, live for no reason, all we can do is fill in the gaps by learning from our mistakes.

To the rest of the world Liverpool don't seem to have done that.

Thanks for the considered response Bluenut, it is one of far too few. I take issue with quite a bit of what you say, but it is obvious we will have polarised viewpoints of many of it. What you say about Hillsborough rings mostly true, although i think it is harsh to blame any liverpool fans for the tragedy personally, especially with such circumspect evidence.

The other issues i can see where you come from. Although what i said about Shields i think is a fair viewpoint. He was on holiday with mates, some of which were Blues (everton) and just so happened to have gone on the way back from the CL final. I dont consider him doing that as a liverpool fan, but as a drunken brittish w**ker (if he was responsible of course).

The events at old trafford i have to take with a pinch of salt. The atmosphere between the TWO sets of fans has become hightened and the animosity increased over the last 5 years. I dont know what has caused this and there is undoubtedly a factor of knobhead support on both sides. It is not a valid excuse and it is immature, but i know a lot of bad feeling toward them eminates from the press accounts of anything between the two sides. The last few times we have played at OT there have been banners draped from the motorway bridges on the M62 celebrating the tragedies above. That has NEVER been mentioned in the press. Any time we beat them mud is slung like the lies printed about Steve Finnan shouting racist slurs at Patrice Evra last season. Again not excuses but i know that they contribute to the animosity. Also with regard to the Alan Smith ambulance thing, that was dispicable, but it was something like 70 minutes into the game, a game against our deadliest rivals. Match going reds were at the match, most other reds were in the boozer, these w**kers weren't, but obviously once reported in the papers these twats are representative of all of our fans.

I have been a season ticket holder for 3 years, a regular match goer for 5-6 before that, and a sporadic match goer for 4-5 years prior to that, and i have only once ever seen any trouble, which was when we played PSG in 1996. We will have unsavoury elements of our support, but who doesnt, please dont even try to tell me you lot are angels.

As for the ban hitting us hardest, that is true to some degree, but the Premier League and Sky generation has hit us harder, as when it kicked off and football and especially money in football, were reinvented, we had a sh*t manager who sold our decent players, bought sh*t replacements and we were left out in the cold and have never quite caught up.

one last thing, as i missed the milwall reference when i first read the post. I wont support those people as they obviously wanted to cause trouble but it was a minority of a relatively small travelling support. Milwall were fined because that is the process, but again we did accept responsibilty for the incedent as a club and publically denounced their actions as fans.
