Terracing, the bad side

If Rangers are down in Scottish Div 3 next season I'll be back on the terracing at the away grounds.

Looks like a return to the terracings in Scottish Div 1 next season for me, when Rangers play away.

Dont knock it mate it could be quality, taking 1,000s away taking over grounds & towns & you get to stand up as well, some of us older lot would love to experience that agian just one last time.

I'm not knocking it at all. I'm actually looking forward to it

I'd love a return to terracing. I was in my early teens the last time I stood in the shed.

My step dad never wanted me to go in the shed, but he was often away for games and got his friend to take me one day, who took me in the shed. After that he couldn't get me anywhere else.

I don't see why a 'safer' way can't be found. The amount of people standing at gigs/festivals etc far exceeds the amount in ayny one stand at a football stadium.

Not forgetting every day 1,000s of people stand up on packed tubes & trains going at top speeds yet thats safer than being stood on a restricted ticketed terrace, yeah righto.

They will always play the 'security card' though and claim that it is easier to identify people misbehaving if you can trace it back to a seat number etc.

They have standing sections in Germany though don't they and they work well enough?

I would love nothing more than a standing area to be instroduced at The Bridge, it is a constant pain in the arse being told to sit down by stewards....

might have something to do with concerts/tubes & trains being on a level surface, I know most concerts have seating areas that are banked and people do stand and dance in those areas but they are advised, sometimes strongly, to stay seated (as in todays football stadiums)

This isn't 1976 Cup Final, think its 1973 Rangers v Celtic with 122,000 inside Hampden.

Yes 122,000 watched that match. My old man was one of them. I wasn't as too young.

(They'd sold 134,000 tickets.) .
I was at the 1970 Scotland v Englad game which finished 0-0 and there was an attendance of 137,000 i was in main enclosure as a 10 year old with my dad, was also at the Scotland v Wales rugby in 1975 with 104,000 in murrayfield now that was scary lol im sure Andy Irvine Kicked the winner in a 12-10 result

Not all the clubs have terracing bud we at Falkirk have all seater, same as Raith, Partick, Hamilton, Livingston, and two out of 3 of Dundee or Dunfermline or Airdrie, not sure about Morton or Dumbarton so possibly only Cowdenbeath with terracing and its a total craphole
