I wonder what happens to this deal if Viega stays (which seems more likely if it's true Atletico Madrid have bought elsewhere and are no longer interested). Also what of Badiashile and Geuhi?

Have not watched a single second of A**x for the past couple of years, but from the highlights he looks like a copycat of Cucurella in terms of aggressiveness.

I’ve asked before, but really, I’m intrigued as to why you dislike them so much. Total football, Michels and Kovacs, Neeskens and Krol. Admittedly non of them are Wim van Hanegem, but still.

Just watched the standard YouTube compilation and he's seems to make a lot of sliding tackles and goes to ground very regularly. Some tackles were secondary tackles because his first tackle went to the opposition. While this looks great on Youtube it's not want I want to see every weekend. He looks a bit wild and not in control.

As Maldini (one of the greatest Left backs who also can play centre back) once said 'If you have to make a tackle you've already made a mistake' or something along those lines.

Looks very good going forward though.

Proper brexit footballer, exactly what we've missed. Bring some grit to the team, no throwing himself to the ground looking for a freekick.

I've never understood that quote from Maldini because he used to slide tackle all of the time, and he is considered by many as the best defender ever.

 
As is so often the case our first offer has been rejected by them.

40mill euros rejected, they are asking for 55mill fixed fee and 5 mill in add ons. They need the extra to rebuild a title winning team to annoy @Valerie
