Thats it we played well enough to win but I think Hodgson ultimately let us down, its why he isn't a too manager he wasn't willing to take risks,

 
Woy shouldn't be criticised here. If we're going to criticize anyone, it should be the Shrek. For a 300k / week player and talking up about how it's "my world cup" he should have made more of an impact. Should have took that chance.

Fair enough he should have but Woy f**ked up with his subs, its clear as day watching that game Wilshere for Henderson was retarded and then to not bring on Lambert when Sturridge was stupid. 70 minutes was the point Woy needed to go for it, after that miss he should have known he needed to change it.

He's right though! Take your england rose tinted specs off and judge it as a neutral. Only positivies were sterling first half and sturridge. Italy caused england just as many problems first half as england did to them. Second half england were nowhere and ran out of gas. 

Add to that a manager with no balls and it doesn't look good. Just because a couple of players have a good game it doesn't make it a good team performance!

Best time I've seen England play for a long time. Up against one of the best midfield's in the tournament, we did ourselves reasonably proud.

That was the gamble in not taking Cole. Now the only alternative is an 18-year-old with one international start.

Wiltshire was a disappointment. Should of brought Lambert on I guess too. 

 
I keep hearing that england created plenty of chances. Must of been watching a different game to me. I counted one in the second half and rooney f**ked it

 
I thought England played well. Sterling excellent but the defense looked a bit shaky. Rooney poor again. Not expecting much from England in this tournament but all the matches have been enjoyable so far.

 
When will Gerrard come in for criticism? Another completely anonymous England performance.

Got to address that situation. Also we need to not go as blood and thunder from the get go because we will tire as the game progress.

 
I'm not his biggest fan, but Sterling was very good tonight and I think it`s a real shame he wasn't launched with a fast release pass for more counter attacks.  Him and Sturridge would of gotten more goals if the ball had been pushed up fast to them more consistently, of that I am quite confident.  Think Barkley made a point for starting the next match too.

 
Fact is we had half an hour + spent trying to break down a packed defence. We were not good enough and our efforts looked increasingly frazzled as the half wore on. Our set pieces were poorly executed and we lacked penetration. My main beef player-wise is Gerrard; he looked tired and apathetic.

You keep calling everyone that doesn't agree with you opinions bo**ocks but you haven't actually gave a reasonable response! What have you seen in that performance to believe england can go any further than the 2nd round?

 
Watch the media forget what they wrote for months over next few days and complain that Cole and Jt should be at the World Cup

We created two genuine chances, the goal and Rooney's miss...

 
To be fair comparing this performance against our last 3 friendlies, it was much better and I believed we could've come away with a draw at least.

 
Is gaby Logan on the fa's payroll...here she is with more ludicrously over positive questions

 
The performance wasn't that bad, England just lost to a better team with better players.
